Requirements/Qualifications

Minimum age: 21

Degree: High school or GED minimum requirements. College degree preferred.  Prior Experience needed.

Hours: 8:00am-3:30pm

Pay: $13-16/hour based on experience, with opportunity for increase annually.

Must have driver’s license and reliable transportation.

Job Description

The teacher's primary role is to instruct and supervise children in social and developmental activities. Teachers also help prepare snack and generally provide one-on-one attention when needed. He or she must help organize the classroom and prepare activities for children per the lead teacher or director's requests. Preschool teachers should be prepared to take on the role of lead teacher when needed. Some assistants work specifically with children who have developmental disabilities. Preschool teacher will clean up after snacks, lunch, and a variety of daily activities. Must be able to lift at least 40 pounds if necessary. This is a physical job, and the teacher must be able to sit on the floor with children.

Additional Requirements

Preschool teachers need a driver's license and must possess good communication skills and patience. A background check will be conducted on applicants. On-the-job training is usually necessary for all new employees to help familiarize them with the rules of the school. Preschool teachers need at least a high school diploma or GED, but college degree is preferred. Preschool teachers must pass a criminal background check. The Preschool can request drug tests at any time. We follow the Hamilton Southeastern school schedule. The Preschool at CCC is an equal opportunity employer.
